Some of my favourite memories of Nanny J involve playing Scrabble with her one-on-one, both at her house and ours, and even in the last years of her life she continued to impress everyone with her prowess at the game. When I was younger we would also spend lots of time together making desserts when my brothers and I had dinner round at hers — I remember especially loving the syrup tarts we would make, and once she even helped me to very creatively incorporate her delicious scones into a human biology project at school. Nan was always so supportive of everything my brothers and I did, and I loved spending time just chatting away with her. I love her very much and will miss her lots and lots.
